Mario Bellini "Le Bambole" Sofa for B&B Italia

$0.00
SOLD

A rare and unique gem not normally found in the US until recently when they were re introduced to the US market by France & Sons, and later by B&B. This Vintage sofa is designed by Mario Bellini who dubbed it the “Le Bambole” in 1970. The series of chair settee and sofa variations were an instant hit and won the Compasso d'Oro" award in 1979. Our model is a three- seater, or “Tribambola” and appears to be missing a slip-cover to fit over the observed black slip. The cover would be of denim, thick fabric or leather. It was lost in a move by the previous and original owner, who’s estate we found it hiding in. A new protective cover can easily be replicated from the existing, removable cover. Or, the forever home can love it as is! Note the existing cover has an area or two of seam separation as photographed. We have priced the sofa to commensurate with its condition and lack of makers mark which would have been screen printed on the bottom of the outer cover.

Measures between 90 and 94” depending on where the measurement is taken. Approx. 36” deep and 30” tall. Measurements are approximate since the shape of the sofa is plush and variable.
