$2,400.00
Original cityscape by Kenneth Stubbs (American, 1907-1967). Signed and dated 1952.

Born in Ochlocknee, Georgia but later moved to Washington, DC as a young boy. He studied at the Corcoran School of Art from 1926-1930 and in Provincetown, MA with E.Ambrose Webster during 1931 and 1934. He retuned to DC to teach painting at the Corcoran and George Washington University from 1935-1953, with the exception of the 3 years he was in the Navy during World War II.

Kenneth Stubbs was inspired by early cubism and strived to create works that were influenced by the golden section used by the early masters. He incorporated the use of movement in his pieces with his use of straight lines and perspective. He exhibited frequently DC and Provincetown until his death. This piece appears to be inspired by his European travels in the 1950's, there were many works of France and Italy that come out of this period in his career.

The piece measures (including frame) 21.5" Wide x 17" Tall.

Shipping is Free within the continental US. The piece will be shipped fully insured and in a custom artwork box. Please contact us prior to purchasing if you are outside of the US.
